Week 1

Peer interviews

For our first class in CART 444 we had to team up with a classmate and 'interview' each other with pre-determined questions. I was paired up with David Churma and here's what I learned about David:

1. Name: David Churma

2. Past and Current studies:
-Bachelor degree in 3d/special effects in Abitibi Témiscamingue
-Now studies in the Computation Arts Specialization

3. Best work:
-His favorite work was a digitized 3d event that took place at Place des Arts in Montreal. His job involved making a 3d video of what the future event would/will look like. He had to analyze and take the time to please his employer with his work.
-He is also proud of his skills as a paint-ball planner, organizing events, making speeches and also posters.

4. Most difficult project:
-Final project, where he had a stage during the day and had to complete his project when he had time, meaning only in the evenings and at night. Therefore David had little time to due his projet, which consisted of a game taking place during the II World War. He was in charge of creating the buildings for the game.

5. After graduation:
-David plans on going into the architecture field in 3d designs for buildings. He loves to re-create already made spaces and sketch it out into 3d software's.

6. Perfect project:
-He describes a perfect project being something, retro, unique and different.

7. Superpower:
-David's superpower as he describes it would be, 3d, video all the while traveling the world while doing what he loves.

1. Name: Sebastien Ouellet

-His favorite class was the Electronic class, CART 360, where he did his final project consisting of little cubes with lights and UV sensors to illuminate them. The cubes could be moves to create different combination's of words. Technically, it was challenging and he learned plenty of new electronic devices and code. It took him 3 or 4 weeks to fully complete the project and the final result was successful.

4. Most difficult project:
-His hardest project consisted of the introduction to programing, like processing where he found it challenging to learn from scratch. Learning the coding and the program was difficult for him. He created a 'Pong' game and he had to put his full concentration to create a final resault.

5. After graduation:
-He plans on working in the web world, as a web developer. He would enjoy running his own company, and already knows a lot about web developing since he is already involved in a company as of today.

6. Perfect project: Interactive installation (so lights, sounds) something that would have a permanent effect in the town.
